muncie yoke size...my th350 yoke won't fit
while fitting everything together this evening to make sure everything would fit, i ran into a problem with the yoke not fitting the trans. the yoke only goes so far into the tailhousing, maybe 3/4" or less, then hits the bearing/bushing inside the tail housing. anyone have any idea what the problem may be? is a th400 yoke smaller in diameter? i'm unsure of the year of the trans, but i know it's a later m21

I had one do the same so I tried a different yoke and it slid right in. I think the splines had a twist in the first one.

I have had rusty splines keep a yoke from seating. Not sure where you are with this, but make sure the number of splines match...TH350s and early manuals have 27, TH400s and very late 4-speeds have 32.

the splines are the same...the yoke goes on the shaft, but only so far...then it it's the bushing that is in the tailshaft...the yokes od is too big to go past the bushing. i've tried 2 different yokes, and both of them went the same way

I used a yoke from a 2001 firebird on my muncie m21,for my 64, no problems. Came out of an automatic with aluminum driveshaft. Would suspect u have bushing problem.
