Default Corvette wheels on trans am

hey guys a friend of mine is giving me a killer deal on these wheels for $150 without tires..will they fit my 1980 trans am?? please say yes! if so will i have to mod anything and what size tires do i need for these wheels to fit my car?

They will not fit without adapters, they have way too much backspacing. However, Vette Brakes & Products makes really nice billet aluminum adapters that will solve this problem.

Once you get the wheels, lay a straight edge across the back of them and measure to the mounting pad. This is your backspacing. Order whatever thickness adapter is needed to get you to 5.25" or as close as you can get.

This is my '73 'bird with '00 WS6 Trans Am 17x9" wheels, which have the same backspacing issue. I used the VB&P adapters to fit these wheels to the car.
