Pretty common to see a LM nose plastered on a GA.Once the GA nose rots off....gotta do something.....

Yes, the original GA nose was a soft urethane material that usually dried up, cracked, broke and fell apart over time. That's a Grand Lemans nose they put on that GA. Notice that they didn't do a complete job with the bumper, since it isn't spaced forward enough from the header panel as it should be.
When I got my 73 GA, the original nose was gone too. I was able to track down all the missing parts I needed to restore the nose to the original appearance on the internet though. Fortunately, www.grandamparts.com sells a new 73 GA reproduction nose cover in fiberglass, which won't fall apart like the originals did. They have 74 and 75 GA noses too.

Given the age of the paint, and the fact that the nose matches the rest of the car, it very likely could have been wrecked in the front and a suitable Grand Am nose could not be had to replace it. That's a '73 LeMans nose, with Luxury LeMans grilles. My first car was a '73 Luxury LeMans...painted the same color (slate green metallic).

Yes, you're right, I should have said Luxury Lemans for the nose.

Other than the nasty hood, that car looks too nice to part out.
