Default TH200 4R article

This is driving me nuts. There once was an article in HPP about 2004R trans. and it gave a list of cars you could find these in originally. I can't for the life of me find my copy of that. It didn't really have the codes and such it just gave a nice list of cars you could look for in the boneyards to find them.

Anyone remember this article???

Yes I have a copy in my hand. From the "I feel the need 4 speed" summer of 2000. This particular copy is marked up with my scribbles. I have the original. PM me w/address and I'll mail you a copy in a day or so.

Not sure how accurate that list is: They list Olds 88, 98, Regency from '81-90, but those cars went FWD in 1985. (Same with the Buick Electra, Sabre, and Limited, I believe.) At that time they switched to the infamous 440T4, and I KNOW you don't want to build one of those!

There are only 3 cars you want one out of. Or at least the valve body. that is the 83-7 Monte SS 86-7 442 or the 84 -87 GN T-Type. these are the only ones that have the firm shifting valve bodys, Higher RPM govenors and would even think about living behind a Torquy motor for any period of time. hope that helps. the two tranny codes off the Buicks are BRQ and BRF. BRF being the BEST 200r-4 made. I dont remember the codes for the Olds or Chevy
