Default Fastest Pontiacs?

Rob, there where A LOT of fast cars at Norwalk this weekend but I think 2 of the fast cars you did not mention. #1 Jimmy Jemmal STOCK 400 block E heads no additives, best this weekend 8:29 @ 163mph (@ over 3000 feet)- best ever 8:08 @166mph (great job Jimmy & Gabby). #2 my car, with my son Michael driving STOCK 400 block KRE high ports no additives,we picked up the car with new motor Thursday in,8:34 @163mph this weekend. The tune up was very fat (new motor) needs new tires, 4:30 gear not 4:10 & Gabby says it needs a 1 in. spacer & touch up top of intake. We are hoping also for low 8s.I just had to mention us 2.

Default Fast Times Q16

After they kicked that Chevy JUNK out and if I could have gotten 1 more time run in, the bump for the Quick 16 would have been an 8.51............................... not bad!

Default Cubes?

Sorry Gregg V, I don't know Jimmys & my engine builder won't tell anyone but I am pretty sure they are more than 400 cubes.

Looks like those High Port Heads are really making some power on top those MR-1 blocks!!!

Did Brad S qualify #1 in the Q4????

Swaney did qualify #1 in the Q 16 (both sides of the ladder) Jeff K would have had him had they run the 205 MPH pass in qualifying. I have a feelling Jeff Ks digger is going to lay down a # before the year is over.

Frank Gs car was running well this past weekend too.

What happend to Scott Rex? Did he break??????

Rex broke on Saturday. Smoked a couple of pistons I heard...something about being held up at the starting line too long, car got too hot, etc.

Did Rex build the motor or Bischoff?

Just heard that Brad S DID qualify #1 in the Q4 Not a bad effort for KRE on their first big HP hair dryer combo.

Dill Brandos car looked quite impressive!!!! I think he has WAY more motor than chasis!!!!

I heard Cooper broke (crank snout snapped off I think) What happened to Welter? Q 4 would have been a lot faster if those guys were in as well as Mark K and Bill Mellott.

I didnt see Spotts was he there?

Rob,

Posting for Misus...he wants to know how DeBono's car passed tech inspection without a blower belt guard.

I'd also like to know...don't any of these guys building these 7 second cars read a rulebook? Or do they only run them at "outlaw" tracks or events where tech is lacking once or twice a year? Don't want to sound like a whiney little b!tch but damn...they have safety rules for a reason, and when you're running that fast, it's not the place to cut corners.

I can't speak for no one else, but bore and stroke on our combo is 4.185X4.250".
Eagle cast crank, 8100rpm through the lights for over 3 years..

Stallion's car will fly once it's sorted out! Ran great for it's first time out in the Norwalk heat!

Mo, I'm sorry I should of been more specific. Our car ran 8 teens last year at Norwalk, and runs teens with some 8.0's thrown in here in Florida. I was just comparing one year to the other. No matter, that was the last hurrah for that motor. We will be gunning for the big dogs for the fastest N/A crown next year in the Frantic 4. However, I will be trying to get the car in the 7's with the 467 in the winter with some small changes.

We also had head gaskets leaking water in three cylinders, so that might of slowed us up a bit. We almost changed them Saturday night, but decided against it at the last minute. Motor didn't give up though!

David, that's me in the pic. The father/son team is Ray and Ryan Ferris. Probably the nicest family you will meet. They also have a strong running car, they have 140+ at 3200 lbs with a 62 headed 455 with no nitrous.

Mike, thanks for the kind words. I'm always here to help you any way I can. Everything that Jimmy and Charlie K have said about you are right on the money. A class act.

Tom, wish we could of talked at Norwalk! I hope one day to even come close to your achievements as an M.E.!!

Thanks again...

Yep. Welter had trouble staging and the Norwalk staff had the tree set wrong. (I also forgot to turn on the water pump.)

Remember, the Q4 runs on a .400 PRO tree:
