Default WT-7 Documentation

Does anyone have a build sheet or a document showing this option? If so can you post it?

I know it was a no-cost option therefore not shown on phs. But, there is also published production figures on the 70 and 71 Judges with that option. So, somehow this option shows up somewhere for that kind of information to be public?

To be more specific the WT-7, option RPO 604.

Can only be ordered on Polar White 70, and Cameo White 71 with flat black spoiler, and with black stripes (Black Red Yellow). Production numbers that are published (51) 70 Judges, and (15) 71.

The other written word is all the 70's were Alington built, and still no proof of that claim. Again, option not noted on PHS because it was a no cost option.

But, still I have not seen a build sheet or documents on this option. Although I have seen a fair number of white Judges with a black spoiler roaming the streets including mine.

Also, I heard on Candian built or cars shipped to Canada only this option would be shown on their version of PHS. I remember someone saying they know of two 71's Judge with it documented.

Thanks, I thought that's what it was. That really puts your 71 White Judge in rare company.

Did the 70's ever have option for hood scoops/hood tach painted black as well or were these done by owners?

I thought the one that Jason in Pa just purchased had it on his cowl tag.

Dunno how it got to be public, but I'll wager that Fred Simmonds has the files that would show it.

Kinda like that '71-'72 production numbers document that Pat found. It would be on that document - for 1970 of course.

No Phil, it doesn't have WT7 on the cowl tag. It has WT1 like all the 70 Oshawa Judges.

Oshawa/Fisher Body had stamped all codes on the trim tag that required a hole, a piercing, a bend or a twist to the body on their Cars.

The spoiler holes are accounted for by the WT1 and the D80. The color of the spoiler or stripes wouldn't relate to the tags protocol. (I'm not exactly sure what else would fall under WT1 - except the rear spoiler ? And D80 is spoiler )

Would have been nice if a trim code had been used for stripe package color - even on USA built.

I "might" have some 70 WT7 docs on this computer. Or they might have been on my desktop comp that crashed.

My ISP is too slow to run through all the hits you would probably get if you ran a search for WT7, WT 7, WT-7 on here.

If Jason runs PHS/ GM Canada papers - we might get an update.

It is probably one of the hardest option to document on a car that doesn't have a build sheet. Unless it was shipped to Canada or was built in Canada.

My 71 Judge doesn't have a build sheet, and will probably never be documented as a WT-7 car. But, another kicker is it should have another PHS from Pontiac as a brass hat car too, and I can't even get that information.

Like Lloyd says somebody has the information on the WT-7 production numbers, and the question is who? How much else do they know about these cars?

Like the Baron says it would have been nice if it was listed as a trim code. Love to see an actual build sheet and see how it is noted on a build sheet.

What I am most surprised is that Pontiac did not charge for this option as it must have cost them extra to go out of their way to make it happen on the line. If they would have charged a dollar it would be on the PHS.

The Oshawa car Jason has may hold a lot of answers. Since, it is basically untouched original, and he bought it from the original owner's brother.

1. PHS in Canada does list the option.
2. Hood tach is white.
3. Original owner could verify information about the option, and would be cool if he still had order form, window sticker, pictures, etc.
4. It would also open up that fact that all were not built in Arlington in 70.
5. Flat Black vs Gloss Black spoiler.

Eric White, possibly?

Does anyone here have an "in" with Eric, or even Fred Simmonds?

I will post up all the information I get through PHS.

There is no build sheet on the interior of the car......and if there was the mice probably ate it. I have found evidence of a "ticker tape" type of paper in the back seat that had some codes on it.....but it is half gone as it was found in a mouse nest.

I'm still holding out hope for one above the gas tank.

BY THE WAY......I have the phone number for the original owner of the car and I'll be getting in touch with him.

Thanks for the advice.......I was gonna try PHS but I just called GM Canada and they apparantly have an entire team devoted to the vintage vehicles they built and sold. This is the first Canadian car I have ever dealt with.

Can't wait to see what this turns up.

Jason,
Check under the rugs if you haven't already!

The build sheets on the Canadian cars are different from the US ones. There were 2 partial sheets in my Canadian Judge under the carpeting & between the two I have one complete one. They are roughly 2" tall & 8" wide & only had the option codes on it unlike the US ones that show almost every part installed.

GM of Canada docs will also give the the engine unit number, a big plus over PHS!

Great find you got there!

Good find there!

Ahhhh dang it......that's the "ticker tape" thing I found in the back seat. It had some codes on it like the interior and rear defrost.....but the "W" codes were missing/chewed off. I found about 2 inches of it intact but the rest was used as mouse bedding.

I even went through about 2 pounds worth of mouse nest trying to find the rest.....wearing rubber gloves and a paint mask. That's not a fun job.
