Oshawa 1970 455 GTO

I have a buddy that has a 1970 automatic 455 GTO that was built in Oshawa, his production date is Feb 19 1970 and a ship date as Feb 24 1970.
Here in Canada but the weird thing is they told him his engine code or number as K0217CZ..
Doesn't sound like a Pontiac number to me.
It is not running the origional 455 as it was changed before he bought her years ago..
