Please we need Full Quarter panels for the 75-81 Firebird!

You can build a 67-69 car from scratch but guys are still putting
"Patch Skins" on cars that need the door jamb area repaired.

The availability of the tail light panel gives me some hope.

I have been waiting about 10 Years to restore my 75 Firebird with full quarters
Nos ones are ultra rare and there are not many donor quarters that don't cost
$1000 and up. unless its a rare care its not worth that much expense.

Quarters are one of the First things to rust out and the last to be repo'd

PS the Floor Board to Firewall panel (toe board) would be a big help also!

Several of our members have contacted Goodmark, who is a major manufacturer of classic car sheet metal, and they repeatedly stated there are no immediate plans to produce full quarter panels for our birds. Perhaps some pressure from some of the major businesses (i.e. PY, Ames, Year One, etc...) would persuade them.

really need them for all the various 2nd gen year styles. NOS prices are crazy, if you can find them and the repop partials just plain suck in terms of fit and stamping quality. yeah, i know, preaching to the choir .... sad part is, if theyl decide to do them and the price will be just as bad as nos and the fit likely worse.

I know, I know 70-81 Firebirds & T/As are in line behind
the 67 GTO quarter panels but I figure if I start asking
now my grand kids will have some available by the time
they inherit my car, at least they can fix it up correctly.

Good used donor sections are getting hard to find & expensive
I bought 2 parts cars with good looking quarters only
to be dissapointed when removing them. Too much
hassel with shipping & disapointment buying from the
south west.

I passed on some good project cars because they
needed quarters, eventually the guys selling them
parted them out, too bad would have been worth
saving except the cost & hassel of finding good
body parts kept them form being saved.

Solid new steel that fits well would be nice to have.
Some one should save a NOS pair to make the
new tooling from, sooner or later all the NOS ones
will end up on project cars.


It kills me to see them available for a 70-73 camaro - so close yet so far away.
The tail panel is usually more solid than the quarters, I'm glad they make it
but $300 is alot for one panel most guys only need the bottom of, a bottom
patch would be nice if you did not need the whole thing..

Like it was said elsewhere the squeeky wheel gets the grease. Make some Noise!

How about doors? I know they made lots of these cars so there must be straight rust free doors out there, right?

I know someone that has a nos 75 up quarter panel..
I cant remember what side he has tho.

I have donor quarters that aren't $1000 and up. I believe them to be rust free.
No rust thru in the floors of the body either.

to the best of my knowledge, no.

they look nice and clean from the outside - the real questions are:

1) are these NOS, or cleaned up used parts.
2) how long have they been sitting loose - and how warped are they?!

Amazing, the late 70's T/A's are now very popular to restore cars and these guys that make parts won't make the 1/4's but they will for the less popular ugly camaro. Chris, can ya help fellow Pontiac guys out here?

My '74 Formula 400 driver-side is done, it needs a complete full 1/4 and will end up being parted out since I've had no luck in the past 10 years. It has allot of other floor, trunk, tail pan and frame rail rust issues to so it's sad to give up on a complete original running car but it's donor parts will help get a few others back on the road.

Not to worry though, I found a deserving '72 Formula 400 rolling chassis that is worthy of the 400/400 drive train. My '73 has some minor filler and eventually I would like some quality 1/4's put on that too before my 4 year old son has grand kids
