Question Literature . . .

Mods, please don't move this thread.

I've been putting up with a P.O.S. photocopied e-bay '71 GTO assembly manual for quite a while. Time to upgrade . . .

I am fortunate to have a pristine 1972 dealer order album, but need more.

I'll pay handsomely for the following literature, legible and in good shape. Prefer printed material, but digital is better than nothing.

1970 GTO assembly manual
1971 GTO assembly manual
1972 GTO assembly manual
1970 dealer order album (all lines)
1971 dealer order album (all lines)

I've searched e-bay, Hemmings, Smoke Signals, and all the usual literature vendors for years, with no success.

Leads will be appreciated.

TIA!

I wish they would try to put out an updated assembly manual on CD, using the original drawings, instead of the shrunk down 70's photocopies.

DITTO and DITTO again! Who has the originals? How many of us would, like Lloyd, "Pay Handsomely" for better quality versions of these documents? It seems like there would be a business opportunity for some entity to look into this....I agree with Lloyd that even digital format would be better than that cheap copied from multiple copies stuff from eBay. Even with my reading glasses and a magnifying glass, I can't read half the pages in my copy.

I wish I had the originals. I have access to really high-end (half-million dollar) drum scanners and digital equipment that could do it some real justice.

I'm sick of the photocopies of photocopies too.

I have scanned and archived a lot of '70-'72 literature that I'll be putting online some day. But no Assembly Manuals.

Sounds like you're the man to digitize and / or copy those manuals if and when they can be sourced.

Are you volunteering, Bill?

I'd be happy to do it, if people would trust me with the originals.

Boy, you guys are right. I also have the shrunk-down manual available on ebay, and you can't make out anything useful. Funny thing is I have the 70 chevelle manual and while still not great the pages are not shrunk as small as in the 71 gto lemans manual.

I also found my original 72 service manual stolen or bought from an unnamed public library here in Texas. I didnt steal it came with my car but the librarys name is stamped on the top pages on the outside.
Maybe it is time to visit your local libraries. I never knew they carried those books but I didnt spend too much time in there.

I put this link on your post in the 70-73 Firebird section as well, some of these look promising:
