Default What are OHC 6 Sprint motors worth?

Hey all! I've got a couple OHC 6 Sprint motors I may be selling, but I am unsure what they are worth. I would assume they are both stuck since they have not moved from the corner of our old garage in roughly 30 years. Both are pretty complete, but the aluminum on one has some spots that got extremely hot and is therefore slighty out of shape. I haven't come across many of these so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Justin

Justin,
I have a shed full and as anything are only worth what someone is willing to pay.
The problem with parts of size is the cost to ship.
Then factor in condition and it goes down from there.

If you check around you'll find they aren't pulling any great numbers.
Now I'm not saying they aren't worth anything just not as much as none OHC poeple would think.

You will need to give more info; before a value can be set.
If you can post some pics and more ID info; either here or over on the OHC board.
IMO over there you may do better with finding a home.

Best of luck
Jeff aka SPRINT6

It seesm as though every single guy who gets his hands on a Lemans rips that motor right out as the first project. Id assume that there isnt much value to them. Well, except to Mr Hamlin anyway....

post the pics and describe what parts of the engine are there, carb, intake, exhaust, motor mounts, dist, etc. It is a matter of how complete or how much is missing to set any value. and of course, not all OHC6 were sprint engines. block and head codes, casting nos would be important.

Well I will say this; there is more interest now than ever before.
I've been messing with OHCs since the 80s and at first I thought I was never going to find parts. Then about 8-10 years ago they started coming out of the woods.

Now within the last 5-6 years with The OHC website, FREE Registry, POCI OHC Chapter and several new suppliers it has become a bit harder to find the good deals in as dirt cheap usable parts.

So as stated give as much info; you can and I’m sure you’ll find a home for your OHCs.

I don't have much info at the moment as they are still buried in the corner of the garage. This post was just to get an idea if it was even worth digging them out. I do know for sure that they are both Sprint motors and I know for sure that 1 is out of a 1967 LeMans Sprint.

I sold a full-up 69 SPRINT motor (superb Y-Pipe, no carb, grafted HEI distributor.)for $600 to some Canadian fella, about 2001. They lay on a skid pretty well.

You could do better.
