Default EP4B Edelbrock Intake Manifold 1964 326

Just purchased a vintage EP4B Edelbrock Intake Manifold to convert my 1964 326 2 barrel over to a 600 cfm Edelbrock 4 barrel. Looking for a place to purchase new intake manifold bolts (12) needed. Any suggestions would be appreciated and if anyone has info/experience on this conversion it would be appreciated. Thanks

Will,

My first choice would be to reuse the factory bolts and thick flatwashers if they're still in good shape after cleaning and painting them with the factory light blue paint. The stock '64 intake bolts have a special tall hex head on them that just looks 'right' on these engines.

If you don't want to go that route head to your local harware store and pick up a set of new Grade 8 bolts of the proper length along with some hardened flatwashers.

Bart

Another option is ARP bolts. I replaced every bolt on my engine with ARP 12-point stainless steel, and after two years of daily driving they still look new. With the stainless versions, you won't have to worry about them rusting either. They aren't cheap, but do look nice against aluminum and will outlast the engine itself.

If you do decide to use hardware store bolts, avoid the black oxide versions. The black oxide coating on most hardware store bolts is junk at best, and will rust at the first moment it contacts any moisture.
