What are the correct color stripes painted on the diveshaft for a 4 speed?
I can make out what appears to be a medium blue band about 12 inches from the front of the tube. |

According to the '69 Pontiac Shop Manual, all M20, M21, M35 & M38 Firebirds used a 49.96" shaft with one Blue stripe. Only HD Muncie 3 speed & M40 TH400 equipped FB's got different shafts (& color codes).

That's approximately what mine looked like too (albeit a little wider). If memory serves it was about 2" wide and painted medium/light blue.

If I remember right mine is still easy to see. I'll get you a measurement next time I'm close to the car.

Just did my 69 T/A pink and white, not really stripes but a pant dab that dribbled down and got thinner....Measured them... 400 auto Plus a yellow alignment stripe at the rear end
