Default Front coil springs

I am changing out the front coil springs on a 70 lemans sport. I ordered a set of moog 5440 springs through moog. I was told that was the one I needed, when I opened the box I looked at both ends and they are both round. The ones I took off are flat on the end at the top and round on the bottom. I have already returned one set already for being to big, will I be able to use the ones they sent me or do I have to return this again?

A 1970 LeMans Sport with a V8 takes a Moog 5382. This spring gas one 'flat' end and one 'pigtail' end, which is a requirement for your car.

I would recommend you contact Kevin at Coil Spring Specialties in St. Mary's, Kansas. They will make custom coil springs to order for around $150.00/pair...Robert

Finished up the front end, except the front stabilizer bar. I need to torque the lower control arm bushing bolts on each side, the service manual says torque at curb height. To me that means installing the tires, and putting the weight on the frame, correct me if I'm wrong.

it mens you must have ALL the weight on the suspension and on it's wheels, from the pic you are missing close to a couple thousand pounds

Replacement springs should not cost more than $75.00 a set. Depends what you are trying to do. 5436 is the stiffest (I think that is the right number) followed by 5450 (Chevelle SS springs) Next is 5400. I would put in 5400s with one coil removed.

5400 is what I use in a Pontiac V8 A body. I cut different amount of coils depending on the year unless you want the front end in the air look. 1 coil removed for a 1970.

Your car would not sit crooked because you bought springs from Carquest. There is something else wrong.

How much 'front in the air' over stock? I want to raise the front of my 65 GTO about 1-2 inches.I will also raise the rear to set it level. What about 5272?

Talking

I want to lower them down not raise them up. You would have to cut 1/2 coil off for a 65 so they sit in the spring pockets right. The 68 and up springs are 1/2 coil off from the 67 and below springs. The wire diamter is also larger on the 5400 springs.
