Aunt Sue
About a month ago my wife's family was forced to put their beloved "Aunt Sue" Eady in a nursing home. She had lived most of her days with her husband in a small house in Greensboro Alabama. They had no children. Her husband Glenn (my wife's mother's brother) had died about 10 years ago from Parkinson's and Sue had been alone since then. It had become fairly obvious since the end of last year that Sue (at 94 years old) could no longer stay in her home, even with daily sitters, and a tough decision was made for her to move into a nursing home close to one of her few living relatives in Bay Minette Alabama. This move was done about 5 weeks ago. Henry, (kin to Sue in some distant fashion) had power of attorney over her affairs made the decision and agreed to watch over her since he was the recently retired minister of First Baptist Church Bay Minnette and he had the time.
Since the move Aunt Sue had been slipping more mentally and physically been losing weight and the family felt like her time was near. Yesterday morning (2-9-10) Henry dropped by for a visit to find a little 94 year old lady frantically searching around in her room. He asked what she was looking for and she told him that she had had two tickets to heaven earlier and now they seemed to be misplaced. Henry calmed her and said that he had in fact found them and had put them up for safe keeping. Noticeably relieved she settled down and they had a nice chat. Henry went on about his day. This morning the nursing home called Henry and said that Aunt Sue had died in her sleep last night. (2-10-10) She found those tickets. We're all wondering who used the second one. RIP Aunt Sue.

A very touching story. Although it's sad when we lose our loved ones; she's at peace and reunited with Glen.
