Default 1971 grand prix model j 455 project

****(if nobody is interested in this car i may be parting it out please e-mail with needs i will start a new thread if parting out)****this car is in original condtion. has been sitting since 94 and is a 1 owner car. matching numbers everything.(have build sheet) looks like original paint but paint is thin and worn and some surface rust on the hood and a little on the top.also the sandlewood vinyl top is ripped up.. it does need a complete restoration but its all there.only thing missing is a/c compressor and evap out of box.even has original dual snorkal air cleaner. yc code 455 auto, power windows,a/c,ps,power disc brakes, bucket seats with center console and factory 8-track,rally II wheels.,12 bolt open rear(3.08)overall car is in very restorable condtion but does have some rust.worst parts are the 4 corners of the underside of the trunk lid, the core support is bad, under the hood in the one front edge(hood is repairable) a little at bottom of fenders and lower part of wheel houses. overall floors and trunk look ok.(some surface rust and pinholes in trunk.doors are good. car runs good and stops and drives fine. please call my cell with any quesions. again this car will need a restoration but if you are looking for a original unmolested grand prix project this car would be a great start.

asking $1950 or bo 609-226-6927

dave . i guess that would depend oin how bad your door panals are. these are not the greatest. i thought with a matching numbers 455 car that i would be getting some interest or at least low offers but i guess there are better cars out there to restore that are just as complete but in better shape. i will keep you in mind for the parts you asked for in the pm if i decide to start pulling it apart.

I'd hate to see it cut up, any more pics the good, the bad, the ugly? Does it start and run good enough for a transproter to pick up?

Steve

trying to get $1650 out of car. will be open to selling the motor and trans if no further interest on restoring the car. would be looking at $1200 on running motor and trans. if i can get someone that wants the motor i will part out the rest of the car but would like to leave the car whole until i get a commitment on the motor. might try e-bay 1st. still would like to see the car go to someone that would restore it. thanks jeff

Jeff my offer still stands on the car and I will bump it $100, but like I said it would be sometime in July before I could get it.

sorry to say but it looks like this car will be parted out.i have a buyer on motor and transmission and if sale goes thru will be taking the rest of the car apart in the next couple weeks.since this was so original i thought it would be worth restoring but the body does have a lot of rust for a grand prix i guess. i will start a new thread in parts for sale but e-mail me if looking for something. useable doors, fenders, dash,,console and shifter, eight track player, gas tank,12 bolt open rear 3.08,steering column and steering wheel etc. thanks .
