Default Recovery Tank

I think the 68 just had a tube from the Radiator down to the ground. What are some of you guys doing for a recovery tank?

I used my window washer tank for a while.
Now I have one of those aluminum tanks.

I used the factory catch jug from an early 70s Nova

It bolts in behind the battery and tucks up against the wheel well following the curve. Uses the existing ground bolt that is on the lip of the fender edge.

well, no. I took the front end of my car off hahaha.

When I bought it, I was told '73 but it looks like it's actually a mid to late 70s part.

See these two eBay ads. One has a part number as 524752

Can you put your car back together and take a picture of how it mounts LOL. That looks exactly like what I want to do. A factory look and hidden under the filler panels.

Will the battery still fit with that in, because I don't see the battery?

Did you have to drill some new holes to mount it?

You can also get a generic overflow bottle from one of the auto parts stores for around $10. Sometimes they can be found in the truck/RV section. Most of the generic $10 versions use a simple wire bracket to hold the bottle, and the ones I've seen are all white plastic, so they look like a washer bottle. Pep Boys has a decent looking one.

Just a note....if you buy the overflow/recovery bottle setup, you need to change the radiator cap to a post-1971 version. That style of radiator cap allows coolant to be drawn back into the radiator when the car is cooling down.

This is where that thread went!

I started searching for that recovery tank that Donovan is using and I'm having zero luck. From the research I have done it should be a 1975 tank. I'm not sure if that means it would be 1975 on up or not.

Not reproduced and nothing on ebay at the moment. I'm going to have hit some junk yards.
