press the "search this forum" button and enter
oil filter header as the search term. You'll find a LOT of info about this problem.

Won't fit or don't have room to stick it up there?
Besides the hang down touch clearance problem, WS6 F bodies can be a PITA with some headers. Mine now you have to slide the filter back beside the transmission to get it up and down. You have to use your imagination at filter change time to cut down on the oil mess. Like covering the header up to keep oil off of it, quart freezer bag to catch the filter in, etc., etc..

I think a smaller filter would fit.are there any small oil filters that would work on a Pontiac.I am also running a high volume and high pressure pump.thanks for all your thoughts.

6.0 Chevy truck filter works fine, just as long but 3/4 the diameter. The Fram # is 3675 cross to whatever you want

I have one set of Super Comps 4202s that one tube wouldn't allow the oil filter to come off or on. It is my 3rd set. Luckily they are my dyno set and it was easy enough to pull the headers to change the break in filter. I had to beat the tube pretty good. You can see one bend is not the same as another set has so the tube goes by where the filter is.

I don't know. I have a 69 Bird with Doug's round port headers and was able to fit the large wix filter on a stock oil filter adaptor with plenty of room to take it on and off. I wonder how the fit is with Doug's d-port headers.
