rear spring recomendations?
I need to order me some new rear springs for my Can Am(rear sag). Anybody have recomendations on a pair that won't jack the rear too high? I also don't want too harsh of a ride. Here are my options: Moog CC507, Moog 5375, moog 5391, eaton mc1341 std, eaton 1463 hd. Don't know what to get? I have the Edlebrock performer IAS shocks all around. David

Good question as I will need to replace all 4 of my springs. So how about a recommendation for a matching set?

I installed all new springs and shocks in my '73 GTO last year. My goal was to get the car back to original ride height (about 10" front & back from rocker to the ground).
I studied the Moog chart for spring rates, load rates, and installed height. I compared this to factory data with the equipment in my car (A/C, PS, PB, 400 engine, etc.). I picked Moog 578 in the front and 5375 in the back. The front height was perfect, but the back sagged by 1" (9" ride height). I ended up calling Federal Mogel and talked to tech support. The gentleman I talked to recommended using the variable rate CC507 springs in the rear. He used these in his '75 El Camino and said they were perfect for ride height and ride comfort. I ordered a set and it restored the rear ride height to 10". I also installed a new set of AC Delco gas shocks all the way around. I am running BFG P255/60R15 tires on stock 15x7 wheels. Ride and handling is now like a new car. I could not be happier with the results. Here is a picture right after the upgrade last May.

Thank You for the info . I thought I read somewhere that the CC507 were good..... I could not find it here, and the abodysite is down. I can order my springs ASAP!!

BillyGoat did you use the factory spacers in the front? and what isolator did you use in for the rear?

Just in case anyone looks for this in the future, Eaton spring made the springs for GM for these cars when they were manufactured. The guys there know their stuff even today.

Springs
I allso used the Moog CC507 Cargo Coil Variable Rate Coil Springs on the rear with new Energy Suspension Coil Spring Isolators, I got the springs off amazon.com for $68.68 shipped, What a great deal.
I use Edelbrock performer IAS shocks all around and Suspension Techniques 1" Lowering Springs on the front. This gives the Can Am just a slight rake for what I feel makes it look a little bit more aggressive, It allso handles great.

I did not use any spacer up front. I used the original isolators in the rear.
