LS3 clutch/pressure plate/flywheel
I purchased a new LS3 that was a dealer take out from a 2010 Camaro SS. I will not be using the factory clutch setup as im going with a 4l80e. Asking $325 plus shipping for everything.

drailed-
Why did the dealer take the engine out? Just curious. |

My guess would be to swap in either a 500 HP LS7 7-liter (427) or a supercharged 638 HP LS9 6.2 liter (376).

A dealer would do this?

Sure, why not? There are still a few dealers who will do swaps, even if they have to farm out the labor to a specialty shop.
Royal Pontiac would remove the 389 engine from your new '64 GTO and install a new 421 HO crate engine if you wanted. Some things never change. |

I think a lot of people are asking themselves that question and are a little hesitant on it. Anyways Denooyer Chevy in Albany has a deal going with Redline motorsports doing 2010 Camaro SS conversions much like the Yenko Camaros. Below is a link with some more info on what they are offering. I happened to pick up one of the takeout motors in there cars with a receipt from them. If anyone happens to be interested in one i think they are still doing them and offering real good deals on the takeout motors.

Bump for my thread, plus if anyone is interested in one of these takeout LS3 motors, I spoke with Dan over at Denooyer today and he is expecting more of these to come in the near future. These motors are going for about $2000 less than what you will pay through GMPP complete minus accessories and water pump.
