Poetry
Does anyone on the forum consider themselves to be knowledgable about poetry? I am trying to find a poem that I read as a kid in gradeschool about 35 years ago. I thought the poem was called " The Captive" and I thought the poet was Robert Service, but internet searches have turned up nothing. The last phrase of the poem is as follows:
Should you seek to gain your freedom, such a thing can never be They who forged the magic shackles, threw away the magic key... Hope someone can help me out with this. Never really was into poetry, but I always liked this one. Thanks Chris |
