Wow the old Wild Willie "T" bucket. One of the all time neat hot rods. AA/Altereds were/are awesome.

This one got a lot of chat on the CFC board. Anyone think the back up guy for the other car had to check his shorts?

Default Mike Boyd

Mike Boyd has done an awesome job driving the Winged Express. He puts on a great show every time they run the car. A few years back he rolled it at the March Meet and pretty much destroyed the car including the old M/T Hilborn scoop. Mousey and Mike are running on a budget so lots of parts got donated to build another "recreation" of the car. I was lucky enough to find and donate a M/T scoop and it's on the new car. They are a class act and put on a great show wherever they go. Here's another link to that burnout. Check out the backup guy in the right lane. I'll bet he was surprised as hell to see Mike zoom by him!

Looks to me from the Pics that the Back-up guy is an "OLD GUY" who has seen it all.

You notice that he was not the least bit flustered.

He did the "Left Foot Over Right Foot Two Step" and continued on with HIS JOB, backing up his driver. (:>)

Some "OLD GUYS" are hard to scare. Agree he might have been surprised but only for a moment.

Several years ago at the Gatornationals there were two fuel altereds that made an exhibition pass. My wife and I were on the fence at around the 330 mark; when the cars went by I said they are not going to make it, as they both looked 'out of control'. The car in the right lane did smack the wall just before the finish line and lost all control. It was a pretty bad wreck but he walked away. That one run was better than any of the top fuel runs that we saw all day.

Besides top fuel rails and funnies, top fuel altreds where close 2nd fav's.
Lived a few miles from US 30 Dragstrip, spent most weekends there.
Since i would gofer, some of the guys let me go with to the burnout box/staging area.
Made dam sure not to be anywhere in front or beside them!
And if not there, stayed far away from the guard rail.
