Its a throttle cable the plastic part bolts to the inside firewall where the cable goes thru. Although it looks like the actual throttle cable was removed and the remaining cable is the kick down cable for a turbo 350 trans.

I would be interested in purchasing your "unknown cable stand" Since you have a matching pair of those stands... well I might as well keep the pair together!

i know the throttle cable goes through the plastic, but i have never seen this this other cable its not a kickdown, that hooks to the carb and trans doesnt come inside the car. this thing has knurled end on it for a knob maybe its for a manual choke. i dunno

i think you nailed it with the choke cable. looks like an old aftermarket universal manual choke cable that would have a black round plastic knob. it's the mounting bracket that makes me think this.

I knew that cable looked familiar. It looks like a Trip Odometer Reset Cable for a 63-67 Corvette.

http://www.who-sells-it.com/cy/corve...-fullsize.html.

The knurled end accepts the little black knob. Does the other end look like the one in the picture I attached? Why it's going through the hole in the accel plate I have know idea...

Thanks for the pics Ed. The heads look good. My customer wants to hold out for unported versions. Good luck!
