Default Mouse , Best way to catch him

Lately the dog has been sniffing the vents and under the dishwasher, Mrs saw a mouse this morning. What's best to catch them besides a cat, poison, mouse trap, bomb the house.

We live on a farm, so getting mice in the house once in awhile is a given. We have dogs in the house so I won't put out any poison for fear of killing one of them. My favorite method is to get glue traps and put a pice of a cracker right in the middle of the glue. Then hide them behind the stove, etc. where the mice run. Very effective.

Sticky trap andput atiny glob ofpeanutbutter in the middle of the trap and you will have it in no time. They love peanut butter.

Peanut butter works but I've found that Cheeze-Wiz or whatever generic cheese goo in a can is the bomb... works every time - they can't resist it. I use those plastic versions of the good old spring trap quick and decisive... the sticky traps sometimes leave them thrashing around for a long time. The plastic spring traps can be used over and over and over

Just put out 6 sticky traps with Tomcat Gel mouse attractant, Found turds under the sink, so their coming upstairs their where the pipes come upstairs.

On another Note saw a small coyote walking down the street this morning, haven't seen one for months now, another issue we had last fall and we don't even live in the country.

I use either a spring trap or one of the plastic traps. I use peanut butter but I wrap sewing thread loosely in the peanut butter. The mouse will pull on the sewing thread to get to the peanut butter and POP he's done. I don't like the sticky traps because the mouse is caught alive and you have to do the killing. I've used one and put the mouse in the trash can still on the trap and still alive, he got away and back into the house.

One thing I would add to this, is sprinke a very, very light dusting of flour along some of the walls & areas where he might be traveling. They normally never go straight across the room like Tom & Jerry. This way, it will leave tracks & you'll know quickly where to put the traps. The flour doesn't seem to bother them one way or another & you will know where he's been & it vacuums right up.

Mechanical traps are the best with peanut butter and sunflower seeds stuck in. Those sticky traps aren't to good in my opinion. Bottom line once your better half sees one half stuck making its way across the kitchen floor you'll agree.

If you see one there probably nine more good hunting!

C4 works best..... kills mice and cleans out the whole house too. LOL Plus there's no dead mice carcases to deal with either.

5 Gallon plastic bucket with 2 notches cut into the rim. Add 2 gallons of water. Take a wooden dowel a bit longer than the diameter of bucket, and put it thru a plastic water bottle/gatorade bottle with a hole cut in bottom to accommodate dowel. Place dowel across bucket. Build "mouse ladder" to allow mouse and friends to climb to top of bucket. Smear peanut butter around bottle. Voila....dead mice.

Default Old fashion spring trap

When we lived on the farm...we always had a large bag of the old fashion spring loaded traps.
They have them now with a wider "trip" base...but I don't care for those to much...I always prefered to add my own small square piece of card board...like from a matchbook cover...to the "trip". Used a small piece of Kraft cheese (sandwich slice type) and mixed it with peanut butter. Set the trap with an "itchy" trigger (where the hook is just barely holding on the "trip"...put a glob of the cheese/peanut butter mix on the "trip" and set 'em behind the stove, refridgerator and in any cabinet that had food...(usually the pantry)....The kids and I would take bets on when we would hear the trap snap....!!!!!
