Default Engine Still Untouched Original

Wonder how many folks still have a pontiac engine still running and as it was from pontiac. that is, has never been apart in any way.

I have a 74,000 original mile never been apart 1969 350 engine from a 69 LeMans. runs great.

I've got73 400 with 100k on it that's not been apart. Car is long gone, I pulled it and stuffed it in the 68 GTO right before I sold it.

I've got a '66 WT 389 that I'm sure has never been apart, complete from carb to pan. It's on an engine stand now but the guy I got if from started it up for me before I bought it. Even the choke hi-idle worked and kicked off when I blipped the throttle after a couple of minutes. Just a hint of smoke the first 30 seconds or so..

I recently sold a '78 Bonnie that had it's original 150,000+ mile 301 in it. Ran like a sewing machine even though it had been injesting antifreeze for the last year. Daily driver. I couldn't believe how smooth that car ran even with an apparent blown head gasket. The dipstick rusted and broke in half when I was trying to clean the gunk off of it.

right on Greg,
I've found many junkyard pontiac engines covered in rust and animal nests; but if they are free, they fire up without much persuasion.
i bet others have had this same experience.

My wifes Honda has 190K and never been apart, not even the timing belt. So bragging about under 100K is not impresive.

I sold my '99 Bonneville 3800V6 to a buddy last Thanksgiving with 223K on it. He moved to Oregon to go to school last summer and emailed me recently and said it hit 250K last week and is running strong.

That car never used a drop of oil between changes (3K) and ran like a watch. I found another '97 creampuff that now has 120K on it, same thing, but the previous owner did have to replace the plenum. He used a stock one so it has to come off this summer for a sleeved one.

Cars just seem to last longer now. And of course, I live in California, so, no rust.

As far as i know a Honda does not have a PONTIAC motor. My Toyota has over 200,000 SO...bragging about your wifes Honda is not impressive. And neither is your spelling.

Well, Why don't you brag about your car going 1000 miles without being worked on?
Or can't you truthfully say that?

So, you're saying it's unusual for a "pontiac" to go over 100K without being rebuilt?
It's got to have an SBC or buick motor to make it over 100K?

Your crazy Sleepy!!! Most of us own a car similar to your wifes, difference is we just dont go bragging about the piece of crap!! They all do what your wifes car does. Now go show me an original 60's Pontiac with under 100K, there you got something cool.
How many people give you thumbs up when you drive down the road in your Honda? Know why? Because there like a$$hole$, everybody's got one!!!

Now your catching on!!!
My 69 had well under 100K also when I tore it apart. You would have sworn it was 180K by the looks of that car but I know for a fact it was never turned over. Never garaged and daily driver for about 20yrs.
