Default Regrind Cams and Base Circle

Regrind cams are the only source so what does that mean for the base circle? What other parts need to change to accommodate for these cams in a stock motor?

If the base circle is smaller, you can put a flat washer under the lifter to lift it up, or mill the cam housing.
One of the design advantages the Cammer had was a "Hollow Flank" in the lobe profile. It allowed for steeper ramps on the cam to allow the reduced valvetrain weight to operate at a higher RPM. Make sure the reground cam has the hollow flank cut into it and is not an egg shaped lobe. IIRC it requires a 6" diameter cutting wheel, not the typical 12" diameter wheel the cam houses typically have.

you need to shim at both ends Bill
there are still some repro cams left for E grinds but not H.
Glenn sold an NOS H a few years ago for $500 I think.
Ive had alot of H cam regrinds in past, but the cam grinder and I had a fallout
and he destroyed the patterns that I bought and paid for.

I think I remember that "H" cam Ebay sale. I did not have the funds at the time but thought what was going to do with it any way?

I have three contacts at the moment that claim that can cut a "H" cam with the profiles they have.

Nothing is wrong with it as far as I can tell but I have yet to take it off of the car so I am not sure. I want a spare.

There was an article a few years ago in HPP or Smoke Signals on the cams.
It talked about the reground cam and its effects on the geometry I think.

Pretty interesting reading at the time.
