Default 65 LeMans Project Drag Car

Sad to say it looks like we're going to loose our dragstrip and I can't see keeping and trying to haul two race cars to far away places.

I'll sell it with or w/o the motor and trans. It will come with a set of good 28x9x15 mounted slicks.

Engine: my old 406 from the 78 Trans Am freshened up with a new mild HFT cam. TRW forged pistons, ARP rod bolts and home ported 47 heads.

Tranny: is a street/strip TH350 with a new 2800 Boss Hog converter.

Diff: is the original 8.2 with the 2.93 gears but with new heavy duty axles, comes with both new 3.90 & 4.56 gears as well as a Auburn mini spool. Girdle diff cover included.

Steering: I installed a manual gearbox, will include the p/s box as well if the buyer wants it.

Cooling: Brand new alum radiator, will also include the original one (needs repaired) if the buyer wants it.

Suspension: New adj rear upper control arms with used (not installed) Jegster lower control/lift bars and new in box trailing arm adj reinforcement bars (aka 4 speed bars).

Brakes: I installed front disc brakes off a 78 Camaro. I have new shoes for the rear, and a new CPP performance manual master cyl with prop valve. It needs brake lines.

Wheels: Very good rear slicks and roll around front wheels/tires.

Air/fuel: Many options here, I have the pictured Offy intake with brand new never had fuel in them Holley 450 CFM carbs or a Performer or iron intake with a JET Stage II 750 Q-JET. Comes with new alum line, 5 gal fuel cell, perf mech pump.

Exh: Jegster "tuned" headers 2 1/2 exh with new glass packs.

Body: I'll get more pics but I do have the lightened hood and trunk lid for it.

Title is clean and clear and in my name. $5500.00 for all of it, $5200.00 for the Q-jet setup, $3000.00 minus the eng/trans

Johnny, Call Kevin Beale at Ames Performance. He's looking for a 65 to build a BRUTUS straight axle car.
Guys, this is a really good price for a complete straight body 65. I know because my brother and I both spent time looking for 65's. They just don't show up very often around this price range. And when they do they are rusted out pieces of crap. If I had the $$ I'd snag it. If anyone wants to do a gasser I'm available to do the front end set up. You can check out mine and my brothers set up on my FB page Dil Brandow

Thanks for the plug Dil. The car has new rear quarter panels on it. The front suspension is very fresh. If it was worn out, my intent was to straight axle it. I hate to let it go but with less chances of racing amd much more time committed to my son's BMX racing, it's best to let it go.

To the top, subtract $500 from the above prices. I'd rather it stay in the Pontiac family than put it up for sale elsewhere and it ends up with a Chebby engine in it...

Wish it were closer, I would snag that right up as a roller. I know what you mean about the BMX racing. My son was racing 4 nights a week at 3 different tracks for awhile. Gets to the point that your glad when the season is over.
