Many have done just that and ended up with 400 inches. rings and pistons much easier to get.

http://bemidji.craigslist.org/pts/3543050105.html

saw these on CL here in MN

new in box full floating forged wiseco pistons with pins and lock, customer had to sell his 1966 GTO and these are left over, they are flat top .030-over and are made to clear any pontiac or edelbrock cylinder head valve angle from 14deg-22deg,these are the finest quality piston for a pontiac 389, if you plan on buying a set of pistons this quality plan on spending 1000.00, these were 800.00 from wiseco a few years ago, if you can find a set of pistons of this quality for less than what iam asking i will buy them for you, call 218\835\8283 for info 600.00 O.B.O.

Thanks, I have been out of town a few days. Agreed, 400 pistons are not as expensive. This is the way I will go. I appreciate the help. Bill
