Default '73 Trans Am

I have decided to sell my Pro Tour project as it seems I will never finish it. The car is an original white car with black interior but now Brewster with no interior except dash and and seat belts. Car was 455, 4 speed, 3.42 and AM radio and not much else. Motor/trans gone but do have original rear.

Story of the car is it was in New Orleans and was flooded but was able to buy the car. I brought it home and completely stripped it and washed every nook several times. The trunk was a little soft so that was replaced along with the drop offs. The floors are ok with a VERY minor hole or two but strong. I bought every new wiring harness and switch except for the main fuse box as a correct '73 was located that is in perfect condition. All new weather stripping was bought as well.

Everything was powdercoated, frame, inner fenders, core support, a arms and every little piece you can think of. The upper a frames are tubular and all front end components are new. The front and rear springs are from Pro Touring F-body along with their subframe connectors, G braces and cowl brace. http://www.pro-touringf-body.com/index.html All brake and fuel lines are stainless.

The brakes are Baer 13" on all four corners with a Ford 9 inch and 3.50 gears with axles drilled for GM pattern. The sway bars are the massive Rancho's that were available many years ago. The subframe is bolted in with aluminum bushing although I have the PST's that go with it. When I put the subframe back on the car and mounted the rear, I took the car to a frame shop to make sure everything was square. The guy told me he had not seen a 2nd Gen that straight since the '70's for what that's worth. He put his instruments on it and didn't touch a thing, it was that square.

Call me with any questions at 713 816 6821. Chris

I do have a motor and trans I might part with as well. 467 with E heads, mild solid roller and Vortec YS-i blower. The trans is a Richmond 6 speed with maybe 100 miles on it.

Pontiac made heads for SBC a few years back and I used adapters to bolt them on the Pontiac heads.

Thanks Leigh, it is interesting to say the least. I get time and make progress but then the car sits for way too long, it's time to go.

I'm a little confused(nothing new there).

What condition is the car in now?

Is it reassembled(like the pic on the trailer)?

Was the paint and powder coating done before or after the flood?

Is the pic on the trailer after the car was disassembled or before?

How is the car now? Ready for a motor/transmission interior and then done?

If not, what else will it need to be 100%?

Thanks, Jim

The car is disassembled, the pics of it complete are of when I brought it home. Once the car was disassembled, that is when everything was powdercoated and new parts purchased. The car is in parts and is only a roller at this time.

I have boxes of new parts such as tail light lenses and bezels with the gaskets. Headlight bezels, interior screw sets, even horn relay, blower motor relay and even the body bumpers for doors, hood and trunk are new.

I have had a few calls on the complete car with motor/trans and yes, I will make someone a great deal on taking the whole package.

Pretty sure the Valve covers are old Nascar pieces when Pontiac was making their own heads for the SBC.
