Default Anyone have cup holders that DON'T look like crap?

Hey,

Was wondering if anyone had some kind of cup holder in their bird, and how it fit/looked. I was driving mine a lot the last few days, and it made me realize something that we all take for granted with modern cars. I don't plan on modding my stock 67 console, but dude... I need something to hold my beverage!

NPD offers an armrest with cup holders that fits over top of the center console. I tried one but the two openings were small - soft drink can size. Wouldn't hold a cup or bottle of water. Not sure if they've been improved.

To my shock and amazement I just saw some of those at walmart. I don't allow any drinks or food in my Pontiacs but as period correct as those things are for a classic I almost picked up a pair just for car show props.

I still have in my garage a couple of those window mounted cup holders. I spilled so many drinks before I finally figured out how to drive with them on the window.

Same here along with a "cozy" to keep the bottle of beer secure.

Well, I suppose I could use it for a recreational basketball game on boring drives by throwing cheeseburger wrappers into it...

About the NPD one... Yeah, I want large fast food drink cup size, not just 12oz can. Although I gotta say, having a console unit that sets on top of the stock console would be great for a right arm rest since the stock console sits so low.

The console and cup holders on my 2001 GMC Sierra have spoiled my comfort demands while driving.

I used to hang it off the console on my Firebird - would hook into the shifter lens position nicely.

I've seen a 68 at a show that had a cup holder fabricated onto an old ashtray, the person would remove his ashtray and insert the cupholder ashtray while driving.looked real good but he didn't have a console.

I use the insulated mugs and they fit nicely in the console with the lid up.

I just happened to think of why the console lid and rear cover had dents in them
on my old 68 :^)

The marked off 1/4 mile was outside of town.
Took at least 1 beer to get there. Then another right after the race.
Race'n makes you thirsty
BTY, mine sat on the window for all to see. Open container wasnt a crime back then.
