Default Horn contact pin

I need that brass springy thing which I think is a horn contact? Its for a 62 tempest but I heard other years/models might work but I dont know how to verify. So I would prefer if someone did know or actually have one from a 61-62. Kind of need it as soon as possible. thanks

Default Horn contact pin

I have one but if you check PY or Ames you probably could buy a new one for what you would have in a used one.

The pins you need , you can us the one they sell for the formula wheel & it's a trim to fit pin. They sell for about $ 7.95. Just match up the length & make it a tiny bit longer for wear over the years.

I might have what you need since I have a bag of extra steering wheel parts. Problem is I do not know what brass springy thing you are asking for. Do you have a shop manual? They list each part separately. I will check my parts tomorrow.

Contact pin should be 11/16ths of an inch long. The GM kit that PY sells is longer.

Spring in first then the contact pin.

Here's the instructions lower left of the page.....

Not all the pins are 11/16th's of an inch as I ended up buying 2 pin kits from Ames because I cut mine the way they said & it was to short & didn't hit as needed so I had t buy another & fit it accordingly. But yes if you get the kit you will have to fit it but be careful when getting them from an auto parts store to make sure your getting the actual part you need, some have no idea what your talking about.
