Default throttle bracket for proper alignement 69 gto 750 holley

hi guys,

hoping someone here has the right suggestion:

I have holley 750 3310-3
Torquer I intake and also performer RPM
Stock "4" throttle bracket which works but angle isn't good
Stock throttle cable.

I'm looking for the easiest replacement throttle bracket that I assume just mounts to Carb?
Loxar xsrk-400?
billet holley 20-112?

Has anyone done this job before without having to change the cable?
Any help would be great.

Thanks

Any brackets I've seen don't accept that type of cable.
They take the later ones with the square snap in part on the cable.

Good point. Perhaps i'll have to do a new cable and bracket? Maybe some more people will know.

Here's a link to some more info on throttle cable brackets: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=554314

I used this bracket with a Torker II and a Holley carb and it worked great, for cheap! It does require the square type cable, though.

Cut your bracket with a saw , weld in a piece of steel where needed to make it work .

Awesome! Thanks that helps.

I don't have square cable and I have TH400 so I don't need kick down since it's vacuum operated of base plate of holley.

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...rottle+BRACKET

And then followed to the section and found the one for $78. ( http://www.precisionspecialists.com/ )
It seems like a perfect fit.

Gonna email them and ask.
I am running 1" spacer so yah makes sense!!!

Oh Hey,

I wanted to add that Rex mentioned this holley stud mount may work for my car.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-Cars-Shif...p=mtr#shpCntId

Just wanted to update this thread as no where on PY is this part mentioned!

Question What about this one (from Edelbrock)

It bolts to your intake and then the factory bracket bolts to it (I think).

I've used it (but it was DECADES ago.........).

I think the old setup on my '71 (stock bracket, Holley,Torker1) was the same as yours as I had an issue with the cable being too far to the driver's side to align. I had to take a die grinder and elongate (slot) the hole in the bracket that mounts to the intake manifold boss, elongating the hole to get it positioned further towards the carb.

My bracket also had a leg that mounted to the back intake bolt for a second mounting point to keep it from turning. I had to put a short steel spacer (tube) between it and the intake and use a longer intake bolt.

I recently swapped to a ProComp intake and nothing fit, I mean nothing. There was no provision to mount a bracket to the intake and none of brackets available which mount to the rear carb stud accept the stock cable.

I resorted to the cable kit below which mounts to the rear carb stud. This would work in yours also. It is identical to Lokar for 1/3 the price. In order to install, I had to modify the pedal linkage bar inside the car. It was pretty simple. I drilled the head of the cable stud off and drove the pin out leaving a hole for the supplied clevis and pivot pin to go through.

If you use the cable thats pictured in the last post I can get you a throttle bracket that will bolt right up to your intake & be in correct alignment with your carb. It's a factory throttle bracket from a Firebird. Let me know as I can sell you one of those for $ 35.00 plus $ 4.00 shipping & then all you do is hook up that cable at the correct length & your done. I have a few of the brackets , just let me know. Thanks Rex. P.S. I use the same set up on my car & I have an Performer RPM intake & can take a pic of the set up for you. Just make sure I have your email so I can send you some pics.

Well for me I'm buying that part from parts place which should fix the connection at cable...

Then I'm buying this bracket (at bottom of list )

http://www.precisionspecialists.com/en-us/dept_29.html

This should correct both issues and make everything mint.

That's the plan:

If you look closely at the cable in the picture, it already has a bracket that mounts to the rear carb base stud. You can rotate it to get the proper alignment and lock it down and it accepts the throttle return spring also. It already has a ball stud on the carb end of the cable to mount to the Holley carb.

I have a Lokar cable and I think bracket also that attaches to the rear carb bolt/stud.

I have the one in your link it worked perfectly for me. My holley sits on a performer intake (not the rpm) without a spacer, If you have a spacer under your carb you will probably need to raise the bracket also. I think he sells spacers to lift the bracket up.
