Default the 455 ram air convertible is done..almost

I apologize for the absence...It's great to be back! All I needed was the birthday wishes from the other thread!.. L.O.L! I want to thank you guys for the referrals! Also may have a 69 Judge total resto to do next thanx to Baron, ransom and others! The 455 ram air is basically done except for a few details and a rear main oil leak that I have to fix ..and of course here's a few picts to start, very low optioned car for a 455...rally gauges/tach, posi p.w. st. and brakes, am radio...4 speed also, pretty much it. Apparently it was ordered to go baby go! anybody interested?????... hope to start advertising it next week, always wonder what my cars will bring, last car, about a year ago (some of you remember) was the same car as this but pepper green an auto with air, sold to guy in Austria for let's say around 80,000... who knows??..thanx again all of you!!!

You are correct Diego.

Regular GTO's with RA III or RA IV engine had body colored open RA hood scoops in 1970.

The Judge option in 1970 and 1971 had scoops painted satin black regardless of exterior body color of car.

This is a very nice 70 Baja Gold RA convertible.

Thanx guys! Yea those darn hood scoops...thought someone would call this out..with the ram air being so rare on this car I just had to call it out more with the scoops signature ram air black..I can always change it if the new owner requests..also the exhaust is not correct..I installed the pypes 2.5 X stainless system and added the ram air exhaust manifolds..this engine needed to breath better! Well gotta go pull the engine and replace the Friggin rear main seal today Thanx again...

i'd have probably done the same thing on the scoops at a resale level .
bling bling flappy scoops be up in here

Definitely would have done that on the exhaust for keeps.
But probly factory logged it on resale level.
You did the car complete total justice .

i was surprised when it was mentioned it possibly got color changed Red/Red .
Didn't sound like something Forrest would do to it - the faktry Gold does look very nice .

Doing the same with mine.....had original equip exh manifolds to go back on, but it just seems like the RA exhaust manifolds "should have" been there instead, esp on a RA 455....

Whopping 5-10 HP gain...but still....

Have any issues with passenger side tail pipe going on?

Forrest it was my fault about the Red/Red combo. I was thinking of the automatic that you sold. Don't hold it against me

No problem Vaughn! Oh yea,harper.. had an issue with the pass.side...sent it back after HOURS of trying and had a real hard time convincing Pypes it was the wrong pipe,,they sent me another one ( had to fight for it) and it fit perfectly in about 5 minutes. The last car I sold (455 ram air convert) I also did the exh. system the same as this one..
