WTB: '65 Tempest trim, tail lamp lens
Still looking for the two chrome strips that bracket the rear tail panel of a 1965 Tempest. I've been posting on the board since '09 trying to track down these elusive chrome pieces. Maybe this will be the year I find some. Also looking for a nice, un-cracked driver side tail lamp lens. Thank you.

Sir,
The trim pieces bracket the "PONTIAC" logo on the tail panel. They basically connect both tail lamp bezels together. It is not the typical ribbed panel. |

You are asking for Tempest parts but, I am thinking you actually have a Tempest custom.
correct me if I am wrong but, the trim you are looking for is not on a Tempest but, on a Tempest custom. I have a 65 Tempest and there is no trim between the tail lamps. Tempest customs are much more common than Tempests. right or wrong? On the lenses, both Tempest and Tempest custom use the same lens.

Koz , a PY member in Tennessee just bought a super clean 65 Tempest that will be cloned into GTO - maybe he will want to sell the Tempest parts . You could contact him .
Here is his thread . http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=730165 Tempest just had perimeter moldings along top and bottom of tail light panel - no ribbed panel . Tempest Custom had the ribbed die cast panel - with 2 or 3 more ribs than Lemans/GTO. And the full length body side moldings. |

Hey Ty, I dont have the trim pieces your looking for. So is Steve Barcak on to something? Do you have a Tempest Custom or Tempest?

The Tempest Custom has a 10 rib panel, whereas the LeMans (and therefore GTO) has 6 ribs.
I have a pretty decent driver condition piece off the Tempest.
