Got the chassis recertified for 8.50
And drove it 80 miles on the round trip without any issue, got to love turbo's.
Not 1000+ miles like a few times before but I think its nearly Dragweek ready. |

Thanks johnta1, put another 40 or so miles on the car tonight, 40 psi oil pressure, 18 inches vaccum, 190 F coolant temp, and 1900 rpm on the freeway, just out cruising.
Hoping to get back to the track in a few weeks, and improve on the 8.90 with two bent push rods 157mph pass from last fall with the 2.50 gear. |

Thanks, I have owned the car for 40 years and its starting to come around. LOL
Mainly I want Pontiac people to see how great a turbo Pontiac is, as a driver and then go like h@ll at the strip. I have said it before but my cast crank, cast rod, 455 short block went 6.02 at 120 mph in the 1/8 shifting at about 5000 rpm, even my 488 gets shifted by 5500rpm. Slowly I am collecting parts to get my 68 Firebird back on the road and it will have a turbo, lightly ported 5C heads, the old cast crank cast rod short block, a ram air 4 sized cam, a low dollar Borg Warner S400 turbo and a blowthru. Be fun to cruise past a drag car in a trailer on the way to the strip and then outrun the thing. LOL |

I've loved that TR6 since I first saw it. It one car I would really like to copy. Oh, by the way, it's been "around" for a long time. You're just getting it better, LOL. Watched your vids many time. Mark L

Thanks Mark
seems to take forever to get a car right. Hope I can get a few good passes in before it breaks again. |
