Default HUGE CRUISE TO THE GTOAA REGIONAL SHOW IN PONTIAC IL

This should be a lot of fun. The Cruisin' Tigers are planning a cruise down to Pontiac IL for this show at the Pontiac Museum.

Sunday September 22.
Meet at Denny's right off 355 north of 80
Denny's
126 FRONTAGE ROAD
BOLINGBROOK, IL 60440

At this point, it looks as is departure time should be at 7:45 sharp with an arrival in Pontiac around 9:00. THIS MAY CHANGE AND WILL BE POSTED HERE

If you plan on coming out - post here so we have a handle on how many cars will be cruising.

Paul, I think that location is a little off. That Denny's is indeed at 126 Frontage Rd, but it's at I-55 and Route 53 in Bolingbrook in a strip mall called the The Bolingbrook Commons.

I-355 is a couple miles up the road, and I-80 is a long way away.

We used to meet up here to go to the Pontiac Drag Days at Route 66 Raceway many years ago. We had a dozen or so Pontiacs sitting in the parking lot around 8:00 am. There's plenty of parking here, as there's a closed bank, and a nearly empty strip mall, right behind the Denny's.

It's a nice easy cruise down to the Pontiac Museum. No wild interchanges, confusing exits, multiple on/off ramps, it's basically a straight shot down I-55 to Pontiac IL.

Here is the class breakdown for this show.....I don't get my car judged so it dosen't really matter to me but something just dosen't look right to me. 73-74, 04-06 GTO's get classes but not a single Firebird class? HUH....How many 73-74 GTO's will show? I bet not 5 total...

Class 1 64-65 GTO
Class 2 66 GTO
Class 3 67 GTO
Class 4 68-69 GTO
Class 5 70-74 GTO

Class 7 Pre- 65 Pontiac
Class 8 66-70 Pontiac
Class 9 71-80 Pontiac
Class 10 81-90 Pontiac
Class 11 91-10 Pontiac
Class 12 Most Original - Committee picks (1980 & older)

This is put on by a national GTO organization, The GTOAA. More than likely why Firebirds and all other Pontiacs fall into the same category and GTO's get their own. FRom what I understand, the two GTO clubs running this show don't bennifit form any of the funds. They all go to the museum.

Doesnt make any difference to me. Im going there for the cruise and to see friends. Just come out and have fun.

We're meeting at 55 and Route 53. Just gonna take 55 all the way there. I know there will be people waiting at exits south of where we are meeting to hook up with the group.

I know about the bridge but at 8:00 in the morning there shouldn't be any problems.

You coming out?

Paul, does the $20 1-day registration fee include admission to the museum? I remember when the museum opened, the streets were packed with Pontiacs, and the museum looked like an Apple Store grand opening. Pretty cool!

Absolutely. Free admission. If you were there a couple of years ago when they opened, you have to go back as they have changed the whole place and rotated inventory. I know they have a new Fiero display with body panels mounted to the wall and lots of other new stuff

I dont see on line registration anywhere. I would suggest filling out the form in post 8 and having it ready when you roll into town.
