Question Are these heads / block the correct year for my 67 GTO?

I have a 67 GTO with 1970's 6x heads and 70's 400 block.

I know to some it's not a big deal and even though I will never find the matching numbers equipment, I wouldn't mind at least having the correct year block and heads.

That being said, I came across this CL ad which is local to me.
From what you can see in that ad, are these components correct for my 67 GTO?

Also, is what he's asking in the ballpark?

Thanks guys!

Manual 4spd Tranny
Freemont, CA

I have the PHS docs at home but if I remember correctly, it was in late 67.

Inde, check out the Wallace Racing site for engine numbers and codes. The heads are correct, and the block could very well be. Typical 4 speed blocks are WT and WS, but WW's show up, too. Bear in mind that 670 heads, although excellent, are closed chamber and like 100 octane fuel or higher. Mine have been on the shelve for years because of this. Neat to have, but without dished pistons, not so neat to drive.

Did you get any cast date codes for the block?
(or block code)

Here is my Engine Search page

The block casting number should be 9786133 for 1967.

Or if it's 9792506 / 9790071 or 9799915 buy it anyway.

The block casting number is raised, and is on the back of the block, passenger side. The date code is by the distributor hole.

No.

The WW is the stamped engine code.
But it was used in many years.
(1967 was one of them)

The 413950 is the stamped Engine Unit Number (or called by other names by some)

I collect info on the engines like that.

Anyway as was said the block cast number is on the back of the block along with the cast date code.

i think you could get a fair price with a reasonable offer .
A lot of stuff missing tho - unless he has more to go with it.

WW (335hp) is only correct for a car that was SOLD new inside of California
49 state would be WT (335hp)
your PHS will state what the original block code was on the BHC form

Build date of car versus the casting dates on parts is usually something to take into consideration when certain amounts of money are at stake.

If it was $400 for all of it - dates and things might not be much of an issue

Sounds like a good fit if your Fremont built GTO was sold in California and if the date codes are earlier than your vehicle build date. Components dated too early is better than too late in my opinion.

I sold some 670 heads last month for $450 and another set last year for $500 with all the valves, hardware, etc.

I've seen that guy's ad up for a couple months, so he might be flexible on the price. Dished pistons is a must with these heads from what I've heard from everyone.

id buy the block heads and intake, the rest is just 400 stuff...its not a deal, but it is fair..and almost an impossible block code to get...id ask to see the paper work where he spent the money..the 67 intake is near impossible too...you can do pistons...which you need anyway...to get the right compression ratio

if it where me and i needed it..id already be on my way to get it..except youre so far away..id ask a member to put eyes on it..pay them for their time...
