Default 'Parenthood' GTO

Anyone here watch the TV series 'Parenthood'? On the previews for next weeks show (Thursday at 10pm, est., I think) It showed a rollback with what looked like a 65 GTO or Lemans Convertible backing up in the parents yard. Looks like the dad, Craig T. Nelson, has purchased it to restore in his retirement to keep his wife from wanting them to sell the house. Could be interesting.

No one? Anyway, I checked and it comes on NBC tomorrow (Thursday) night @ 10 pm. Might be interesting to see what the car actually is and what comes of it.

I saw the add as well; looked like a GTO to me.

I won't be able to catch the series. Let us know what the deal is.

GTO according to the emblem.

See the clip here.

http://www.nbc.com/parenthood/video/...nthood/n41507/

If you pause right at the beginning you can see the GTO emblem on the rear qtr.

I don't know anything about the show. Never seen it. Let us know if the GTO gets more air time. Episodes look to be on line, so wouldn't have to tune in when they air.

Yep. He claims it was a GTO that he got cheap. Teal Turquoise. It got more air time with the dad and one of his son's sitting in it talking; with him working under the hood while talking with his wife, and again the car sitting on blocks while him and his wife talked. It looked not to be a tri power car; and I could never catch a look at the interior to see what tranny it might have in it.

I had my wife tune it in just long enough to see it rolled in. Seems wifey is wanting to sell the house and thinks he got the GTO project ("6, 8 months tops") to forestall her plan.

Went back to watching the college football game after that so didn't see the additional scenes.

Is the program supposed to be a comedy, or a drama?...

We watch, wife likes it. It started out OK, but now it's just alot of the characters just talking over each other all the time. I'll be looking for it, missed the current one

My wife has never missed an episode. When she forces me to watch it from time to time......thoughts of suicide creep into my head.

According to them it was a TT GTO. It was missing parts. The hood scoop insert was missing and the trunk lid was missing. It looked like it still had lacquer paint on the car. It was a California black plate car. The engine was questionable. It might have had a tri power but the only thing you could see was 1 Rochester 2 bbl carb, it looked like the center carb so you couldn't tell if it was a tri power or just a 2bbl. It also had a aftermarket flexable upper radiator hose. It was hard to tell if the hood was the same color as the back of the car. It might have been a Lemans someone was trying to clone.

You can watch the episode on line if you can sit through it. The car is at the beginning and near the end.

The final episode for the season just aired and the 65 was featured in it. It was teal turquoise, with same color interior. Looked to be ps and automatic. Rally I's and redlines on this convertible. He finished the car and gave it to his grandson who took it on a road trip to visit his girlfriend. Hope we'll see more of it next season.

Great program! Not just the GTO, but a really interesting story about family. If you know of someone with Aspergers syndrome, this series might help you understand what it's like to have a child with this disorder.
