WTB 70 GTO or 71 GTO 455 HO
I'm looking for either of the above but must be a NO RUST car in very good condition.
Restored is OK as long as it's been done right. No bench seat or column stick. West coast car is preferable. |

Are you looking for a numbers matching car or just the pedigree? A friend has a 70 HO convertible 4 spd red/black he might part with but doesnt have the original motor.

I've been asked a few questions via PM's so now would be a good time to be a bit more precise. Numbers matching is not a holy grail for me, as long as it's a nice no rust car in very good condition and has a 242 VIN. I'd rather pay for a nice restored GTO than a not so nice one with original patina for the same money. As previously stated I'm not interested in bench seat or column stick. I'd prefer a 4 speed manual but wouldn't shut the door on a TH400 auto if it presented well. Also, with gas at $6+ a gallon over here, a 600 h.p. gas eater is out of the question. I can afford up to $50k so good genuine Judges are out of my price bracket. And finally; if any "genuine matching #'s" car is presented to me, I pass on all the information to my mate in MN who is a collector and a walking encyclopaedia on GTO's before I make a decision. (He has a fit when I mention non matching #'s cars) LOL |
