Default Guitar cover for all of you 40 somethings...

Tonight I was cleaning out some dvd's in a drawer, and found a video from a couple of years ago at my daughter's wedding reception. That's me, jammin "Sweet Child O' Mine" with a backing track.

Thought I would up it to the 'tube, and give you guys some LOLZ.

Word to the wise: Open bar and playing a fairly complex song don't go very well together, unless you are EVH!

Uh... Yes, it is! The lighting was odd, or you'd be able to see the orange. And look closely for the fire shooting out of my fingertips.

Dude! You are awesome!
I'm a power-chord-playing-hack that can only dream of playing like that!

Need pics of that guitar and your rig, please!

I'm no guitar player but I know what I like when I hear it and that was damn good. And at your daughter's wedding reception to boot! Is that your only gig where you had to pay to play? lol

You rock, man. You rock. I would have liked to see more headbanging, though.

Nice, I love that pointy guitar sound. Might be because I'm 49...

Thanks. Your words are too kind!

Kaman GTX-33, kind of a Jackson style shred guitar. I was playing through my Digitech RP-500 multi-fx pedal, emulating a Soldano SLO-100 amp. I just ran it into the mixer/PA.

I liked the Soldano sound so much I bought the cheaper version last year in the Jet City JCA20H (designed by Mike Soldano). I run that into a homebuilt 2x12 cab.

I don't play that zebra guitar much anymore. I bought a BC Rich ASM Standard (double humbucker, floyd rose superstrat shred guitar) that became my primary.

I was hoping for more, too. Turns out all of the "kids" were too square. The rest of us old farts partied like it was 1980-something.

I totally appreciated my son-in-law's step dad getting out there with the lighter. Nice touch!

And yes, AROWHED, it was a very expensive gig. I like it better when I'd make $50 a night for a gig.

I appreciate all the kind words. Makin me blush, but not in a chick-like way!
