Default Professional Race Vehicle Driver's Training & Exprerience

Since GTOGEORGE knows so much about my racing experience, how about a thread where PY members put in their professional race car, race truck, motorcycle, etc drivers
training. Where they got it, etc. If not professional, then background etc.

I know we have a down under boat racer and at least one road race guy that could contribute.

I am not going to post any information, If they want to know anything you do a fine job of posting my racing credentials, apparently.

Think OMT went to Frank Hawley's school
Marty P went to Roy Hill's school

There must be more than 2 guys out of 38,000 PY members

I've had the maximum amount of training offered by the GM Proving Ground:

Accident Avoidance and Evasive Driving
High G and Limit Handling (Black Lake)
and (also at GM's nickel) Bob Bondurant training.

I am also starting my 36 year of competitive driving (NHRA), 15 of those at a national level with the NMCA/NSCA.

Glad you posted Keith.
Lot of Ford and GM guys went thru Bob Bondurant training on the company nickle.
You know you had a "Black Lake" for years before us.

20+ Years of having a wife giving me backseat driving advise.
"You're going too fast" "You're driving too close", I've got 'em all.

I used to ride my ZX-10 and ZX-11 on the Autobahn and I'm still here to talk about it...

My driving skills were obtained at Motor Daddy's school of hard knocks! That and the U.S. Army.

Hello Bud, Long time no talk.

Some things, no amount of Professional Training will ever be able to fix.

LOL ain't that the truth! Thank GOD NHRA does not allow the wife to be in the car during a pass!

Going to a race I have heard her tell me:
-Are you seriously throwing taters pulling a trailer?
-Are you really driving the stripe pulling a trailer?
-(While Towing)That's way too much finish line and your just wasting our money if your gona drive a race like that,we might as well turn around and go home.(and she is QUIIIICK TO TELL ME who I took to much stripe on as well as give it back:-/)
-you can't be hitting the practice tree while driving 75mph down the highway.....LOL I'll give her that one, but to me you can't practice enough.

APPARENTLEY my wife has a Competition back seat drivers license in every single class there is to run EXCEPT anything that has to do with motorcycles cause she is to terrified to be on one.

And Fwiw she's become quiet the arm chair engine builder too!Even though she has a hard time distinguishing the difference between a camshaft & a crankshaft.

I thank the big man I have her cause she makes this whole thing fun & interesting!

Your wife a member here? Because if she is, your day is about to get very bad.

Nice try on the save with the last sentence but too little too late. .

BTW - I say this because today is my 24th wedding anniversary so I speak with some experience.

LOL no she is not a member here! But really she can get pretty viscous when it comes to putting me in my place........It just makes me work at it a bit more and that's why I'm pretty lucky.........She knows what she's doing!
