Question 67 GTO Ignition Switch Question for the Pro's (pics)

So I decided to re-key the whole car. Everything is great, except the ignition tumbler I got doesn't fit the actual ignition switch (or is it the other way around?) lol

I have a feeling my old ignition set up was wrong from the beginning because it had the incorrect key.
Do I need to get a new/correct ignition switch? (the one that screws to the dash?)
If so, where should I get one? Re-manufactured or used? What year switch works for the new tumbler I got?

Here are my pics.

Old set up currently in dash

In all these pictures, the OLD ignition tumbler is on the left and the NEW tumbler is on the right.

I think you just need a new ignition switch to replace your old one. I can't identify your old one.
Let me see if I can round up a known '67 switch for you in my stuff.

I believe your current switch is for a 66 seeing how the switch face is flat. A 67 switch face is concave/dished. I don't know if this helps are not!

Awesome, thanks Andre! I have spent lots of money with you in the past, guess I'll add this to the lot! haha

This switch on FeeBay looks like the one I need (domed) but there are not keys. Will I be able to get the old switch out of the assembly without the exact fit key?

You have the same problem I had. The ignition switch you have now is a universal type like J.C. Whitney sold. You will need a complete 67 ignition switch.

66 and 67 switches are the same, factory numberwise. Have a few available if you need an original.

'66 The tumbler is/was convex and in '67 in was concave.
None were flat. Aftermarkets do not seat without mods.
