Default Congregational Church Show

Cloudy skies? Yep.

Threatening weather? Yep.

Michigan? Yep.

Must be time for a car show....

This one was the 1st Congregational Church Annual Labor Day show. I like this one because it is within walking distance from my house (which makes it a good candidate to take the GTO) and because usually Eric and Mark White are there with their GTO and '67 GP.

Unfortunately Eric didn't make it this year (hope everything is ok). Fortunately the rains held off until early afternoon so the event still went without a hitch.

I've been going to car shows for probably 50 years and this is the first time I've seen a "blacksmith" at one...

(...a few "butchers", maybe, but never a smithy).

Thanks for the pics; looks like Pontiacs were well represented.

Mostly small trinkets: horseshoe nails, maybe some lampstands and stuff.

We visited a little bit and talked about gates and hinges but he wasn't making anything structural (or very elaborate) during the day.

I tried to convince him to cook up some dogs on that fire, too, but he had already eaten lunch. You can see his associate downing a cold one in the background.

Thxs for sharing & posting the pix K!
Side note: while mouse hovered over thumbs - interesting to see the "viewed 'X' times" for each...

Any more of this Vette? Reminds me of a neighbor's when I was a wee lad

I'm O.K. physically, mentally, not so sure.

Marc made it this year, but not with the GP; he had his slightly warmed over '88 Monte Carlo SS this year. The GP was in the shop for a convert top hydraulic leak (new cylinder) and a loose rear window track. Both are now fixed.

Drove the GP to the Tuesday Culver's Cruise down by The Palace. Have you ever made it to this weekly event?

This time of year I'm pretty fried from Woodward and Back to the Bricks. Decided to stay home given the iffy weather forecast. Sounds like I missed a good one.

Thanks, guys.

Unfortuntately - no on the Vette. It was a '63 and was a mild custom, with the seafoam theme running into the interior and up the middle (console).

They said it was the largest so far (and I believe them).

I have done and could do Culver's on Tuesday night. Let me know the next time you are going to be out and I'll make a special effort to be there.
