Default 70 Trans Am Dash

Rookie question? Have seen several 70 T/As with chrome bezels on the gauges, is that factory? My 72 and 73 have black gauge bezels.

Also, what makes the engine turned dash of a 70-72 different from a 73? The wiper switch area? Thanks

73-74 gauge bezels had a square opening for the light/wiper,as opposed to the two separate slots that 70-72's had.....

Also no RTS badge or associated holes for the badge below the Tach and Speedo on 70 -72? Not sure exactly what year RTS came out.

74's had RTS on the glove box door and 75-81 was above steering column on the bezel....

There seems to be very little guidance or agreement on '70 TA dash bezels. I thought for years that 70 was chrome and 71 and later had black bezels (mostly because I have a 71 and a friend had a 70 and that is how they were). In looking and talking to owners of many 70s it appears most were chrome but many were black. In 71 some early cars had chrome but later builds and all 72 up were black.
