Default Window handle springs

I'm putting together the interior on my 67 finally. This car had no interior panels when I started so I have no idea what was originally there. My question is were the cone shaped springs used on the window and door handles in 67? If so how were these springs installed. Appreciate the help. Steve

Yes they had springs that slipped over the regulator control under the crank handle. I forgot which end goes down but you may be able to tell when trying to put it back together. I just parted out a pair of doors but did not notice which way the springs were orientated.

I might be wrong but I think that they go behind the door panel, then the door panel, then the handles.

I think you're right and the small end to the outside and large end against the panel.

I know the window cranks used a plastic washer behind the handles, not sure about the door handles, I would guess that the washer would go on after the door handle and then the spring to keep the handle from rubbing the panel.

I just did mine and it came out great. I have an assembly manual for a 1967 same for 66

1. Vapor barrier

2. Foam washer on all door / window cranks

3. Spring (small end against the door crank)

4. Door panel

5. Plastic washer (attached to crank / handle)

6. Crank pushed onto door panel with metal clip inside between plastic washer and door crank.
