Thumbs up

I had a chance to buy this Red HO in the late 80's from the Original Owner but I had no money back then.

He brought it to a SoCal POCI meet where I took some pics. It was still unrestored under the hood back then.

Check the rare insulator donut around the water temp sending unit.

Those are great looking cars. Ive only seen 4 gtos go through so far and 3 of those were judges, I guess once you get one you never sell it. Tired of the retread corvettes.

Am I wrong? Neither has the GTO chrome pancake air cleaner, which I thought all GTOs67 came with. They both say correct engines..... but not original engines. I can't see how they got those prices if neither engine is original to the car and no original air cleaner.

Well maybe Lot #497, the red 67, didn't have the pancake air cleaner because it's a California car with A.I.R.?

nodwyer you are right about the "retread Corvettes" . Seem to see the same cars rotating through the auctions. Hope BJ's has some GTO's other than Judges. Would be nice to see what the market is doing.

How many Cali HO cars were built?

Mine is an original 67' California HO, Auto, A/C car. I can't imagine there were too many built. I still have all of the original smog stuff, engine, tranny and rear in the shed.

The Barrett Jackson car, lot 497 does have the correct air cleaner,
Those were the type for a CA car with A.I.R

Thanks for that RDR and Nick. I wasn't sure, but now I know what to look for.
