Panels in primer for long time
What is the time limit for a panel sprayed with high build primer? I have E primer as a base (DTM) with 3-4 coats of high build primer which I blocked out. Should I use a sealer on it before moving onto my next panel or go further then that with a top coat? The panel may be in primer for 6-8 months before sealer and final top coat. Thanks

If E means epoxy, and it's staying indoors and dry, then you should be fine with the high build on top of it. No way I would use a traditional sealer over it.

As long as your blocking has not exposed bare metal I would be confident in letting the panels set in dry conditions, and when ready, sand with 600/pad so as not to undo your blocking yet provide tooth for a catalyzed sealer followed with color.

I agree. We have let a few sit quite a while in Poly primer. Never seemed to be an issue. Couldnt hurt to check the TDS sheet and see what the manufaturer has to say about it as well.

Thanks for the info. I will block out panels until all are done. Then shoot over all sealer and topcoat. I am hoping to have top coat on by late fall, but it depends on the time I have. Thanks again.
