Default 1973 Clutch/Pressure Plate

I finally have my 1973 Trans Am home, she is in for safety and then title registration. Was happily surprised to find she still has the front plastic valence panel..

I find the clutch extremely hard to depress, like the heavy duty one in my old Ram Air 4 GTO. Motor is a slightly warmed 72 455 HO. What are you running for a clutch in your car?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

I had this same issue with a Chevrolet Camaro I once owned. The problem was the adjustment rod that goes from the clutch Z bar to the clutch fork was misaligned. Make sure that that adjustment rod is in the right hole on the Z bar. It has to be as straight as possible. If it is in any other hole in the Z bar that doesn't make the adjustment rod go straight it will create a binding force on the clutch fork and clutch throw out bearing. Hope this assists you with the issue. Good luck.

Grease fittings on the "Z" bar comes to mind. Also many people go overkill on the pressure plate, which will end up wearing out the linkage. my 2 cents

Someone could have installed a 3 finger, hard pedal. If you do not make over 500 h.p. Centerforce dual friction works well with a stock pedal feel. I just bought the mcleod rxt it is softer than stock!
