Default Tall order but what the heck

Looking for a complete driver car. I can do little things but need a reliable car that has no drivetrain needs. T-tops, hardtop, 4sp, auto, ac, no ac don't care. Only want I have is a rust free as possible complete running driving car that I can use on powertour and slowly work on. 70-81 Firebird or TA. I'm in Georgia and have a $10k budget.

I've been watching craigslist lately, and it's been slim pickings for second gen Firebirds. I don't know this car, but it looks pretty nice and is at the upper limit of your budget.

Looking at the pics of the bird for sale it has a blue steering wheel & gray seat covers. So i would expect it has a cracked dash & ripped seats. I'd check it out close before you consider it. Or get a lot of pics of it dated today & not last decade.

One photo had a blue steering wheel, another had a black steering wheel.

To me, it all comes down to how good the body is. If the body is rust-free, you can afford to change interior parts out and maybe change to a Pontiac engine at some point. It looks very straight to me.

You don't want to try a road kill car? There was a Formula on the tour last year that was rough. Should have taken some pics of it. I think they had picked it up just a few weeks before the PT. Sounds like and adventure!

There are actually quite a few $10k & under cars out there--some decent--some junk.

There seem to be more '79's than anything else.
