Default wiw 79 10th 400 4 speed 24000 miles

Whats it really worth today, and maybe 3 years on down? 79 TA TA, 24100 miles , 400 4 speed, never cleaned under the hood, and I mean never, all original besides 1 muffler , tires {Eagle ST.s, } and battery. Light scale under side {never cleaned} two little door dings {fixable}, paperwork, but no window sticker, {protecto plate book, tire info, } mud flaps protected flares, Air works, but not strong. Now if detailed to perfection I m thinkin 38k. Does this sound alright at 35k? Original paint has 2 stone chip in nose, and a factory flaw in door that I think will be covered by "Daytona " decal. Flipper buddy tells me 32k, but he only wants it to make a 5-7 grand profit. Seller was at Scottsdale, { 175 14 mile 79, remember?} What truly is the realistic value of the car I described above? Car has factory tips, t top bags, flawless interior, all original glass. Maybe the undetailed look can be corrected in a few days, but who would present a car like that for that kind of money? With all this Scottsdale BS, cant really figure out the real market on these cars.

From what you're describing, I'd say 28k....30k tops.

35k car was actually totally undetailed, by the Pontiac collector owner. he also has a 77 brown w72 WS 6 4speed that I checked out, non T top brown car {but nice car] for around 17.The TATA 4 speed , once detailed, will be a super nice car. Cant believe the guy, who I bought a 73 AMX off of , would leave money on the table by not presenting the TATA properly.Guy who will detail it, one best Trans Am last year with 74 dark blue SD 455 at Norwalk. Mustang Gt that I was thinking about buying, was bought by my cousin, who put it on the showroom floor of his MAZDA of BEDFORD dealership at 26990. Everything worked out great. Of course Pontiac TATA will be for sale at my cousins dealership down the road, maybe in a few years.

Im sorry, it was also a 79. Brown car is nice for the money with one repaint. Custom interior air car, redone in fresh vinyl. Detailed nice, while the 79 TATA was dirty and still wearing mudflaps. Only good thing about the flaps though, is that the flares were pit free. Motor on TATA was 100% percent original, but who knows what lies under the dirt. I figure the dirt saved me 2-3 grand on the price. But it least I could see the car in person, and that sealed the deal for me. A little Simply Orange, and two days, and Im all set

Quick note...when you detail, easy on the face of the engine block and heads passenger side in case there is the "OK-2" factory stamp and/or yellow inspection paint splotch.

Congrats on your score...enjoy

What about the 24 on the shroud? Does that mean anything? Don't know what else Ill find when I dig into it. Car was driven 9000 miles since 1984, when it was traded in to a dealer. dealer posted ad in local paper with the exact mileage that's on the title, in 1984

Without pix my WAG is the "24" you mention is a white grease pencil handwritten inspection mark on the shroud. Any others will certainly add their

yea the 24 is handwriting and really undisturbed. Maybe I should be careful not to destroy the originality under the hood

Sounds like a great car. Congratulations.

The easiest way to post is with a photobucket account which is free. If you want me to post up some pictures for you let me know via PM and I'll provide you my email address.
