Default New AllPontiac Aluminum Block

This particular one is destined for the Boss Bird. It will save weight and have replaceable sleeves so we can fix cylinders at the track if needed.

Look closely at the pictures....what's different (compared to other aluminum AP blocks)? Hint: it will be much stronger.

I never seen an aluminum block up close and raw, but looks like a lack of freeze plugs and a much beefier lifter bore area.

Winner!!

Haven't weighed it yet....expecting maybe 20-30 lbs heavier than the jacketed aluminum block.....still a good savings over iron.

Nope...no need with our billet Tunnel Port heads.

Yes, the backbone down the middle of the lifter valley is much beefier.

I will weigh it with a bathroom scale in a couple of days and post. It's heavy for aluminum, but I can pick it up and move it around by myself. I don't think I can pick it up and put it on a bench by myself. I am guessing 140-160 lbs. I will let you know.

Do they come that way (beefy backbone) or did you guys have it made that way?

Special order with the solid water jackets, beefier lifter valley, cylinders not bored as deep into main webs, 9/16" head stud threads, 1.00 lifter bores for bushings, 55 mm cam tunnel.
It basically has everything you'd get in a billet block except skirted mains.

They cast (4) of them and I think they are all spoken for. I'm pretty sure they'd make (4) more if the orders came in.

We'll have some more machining to do ourselves....adding our front oil feed hole, machining the decks for sleeve registers, etc.

Very Impressive block and the Tall "Backbone" configuration will make the aluminum block VERY STRONG.

Being able to have registered sleeves and a solid block will make the block/engine potentially competitive with other brands.

Call AllPontiac about that. Now that they've finished the first batch, they should have a better feel for the pricing for future runs.

This is what the standard IA-IIA looks like for comparison. That is one massive lifter valley backbone.
